Charco del Ingenio Botanical Garden

Newcomer's planned a trip to Charco del Ingenio, a Botanical Garden outside of San Miguel. We had a guided tour of gardens that had a huge canyon. It always amazes me how many different species of cacti there are and I think we saw most of them at Charco del Ingenio.

The reservoir was pretty dry because there
was not much of a rainy season this year

After, we went into Centro San Miguel for comida as a group. When we got into Centro, they were selling eggs (real eggs, from a chicken) filled with confetti, flour, and/ or glitter (somehow). Apparently, the tradition is to crack the egg on someone's head (mostly kids, but I got it once). Nolan was the first victim before we knew what was going on. This little girl came up to him and, unexpectedly, cracked the egg on his head. He turned around and you could tell he wanted to wallop her, but then he turned back to us and started crying. James bought the kids a bag and they had fun cracking them on each other's heads (Lydia just threw them on the ground, I think because she couldn't reach anyone's head). It was fun to be a part of.
Nolan knew it was coming this time...

Lydia got "hit" a lot
