The kids ready for the boat ride
Lydia tried to help row a couple of times, but I was worried that she would lose the ore
The boys enjoying the rideThe river sometimes gets to the grey line on the rocks and
boats can't make the trip to see the waterfall!

Our first set of waterfalls
Through the rapids Ethan and the four other adults got out and walked on the rocks while the guys
pulled Nolan, Lydia, and me on the boat
Ethan and James found a bone on the shore
Sarah and the waterfall
Rahul and Chris
Heading back...Nolan thought he was cool sitting backwards
This time we could relax and ride right through the rapids
Cenote - cave with crystal clear water that's 45 meters deep
(behind her is one of our very helpful guides)
It was beautiful! Our goal was to leave the waterfall area by 5:00 at the latest so we wouldn't have to drive on the twisty, mountain roads in the dark. We ended up leaving around 6:30 and drove almost the whole way to Rio Verde in the pitch black. It was not a relaxing drive to say the least especially since we kept getting behind dobles (semis with two trailers). They were basically not even moving and we had to keep waiting to pass them when the road wasn't curving one way or the other. When we hit our fourth one I think James was about to cry, but that was the last one and we made it to Rio Verde safe and sound!
