Naples, Florida

The kids get two weeks off for Easter, so we decided to take advantage of the time and traveled to Naples, Florida to see my Dad and Anna and then met our friends, the Hart's, in Cancun. Both trips were so much fun and we (especially James) got some much needed R&R.

James' Uncle Mike and Aunt Jeanna live in Marco Island (about 20 minutes away from Naples), so James' parents planned to come to Florida the same time we were there so we (and my Dad and Anna) could see them as well.

The first day we were there, we planned to all get together. The guys (including Ethan) went golfing while Sharon, Anna, and I took Nolan and Lydia to the Naples Zoo. The zoo was a very nice little zoo and we saw lots of animals that the kids were excited about, but it was so hot and humid! My poor kiddos (who have lived in a very dry part of Mexico for over a year) were sweating their little butts off! For dinner, my Dad and Anna had made a reservation for all of us at a restaurant right on the beach (literally feet in the sand) so we could watch the beautiful sunset (we all know how much I love my sunsets!!). It was a wonderful day to start off our vacation!

The big tortise

We saw them feed the lions. It was the most active

I have ever seen a lion (the male, not the female

sleeping) and boy are they HUGE that close!

Lydia, Nina, and Nolan. The Naples Zoo has a boat ride

around a small lake where you can get a good look at

some of the monkeys that was really fun.

Nolan went to play in the sand at dinner

and came back soaked...he was told not

to go near the water...hmm

By the time we were ready to leave, Nolan was so

wet, James took his shirt off to keep him warm!
