Everglades

Ever since James and I watched the show Invasion (years ago, we were probably the only ones that watched it), we have wanted to visit the Everglades. We got a chance this visit and, in spite of the heat, had a wonderful day. We started out at Shark Valley which is in the northern part of Everglades National Park. Lots of alligators, some unique birds, and even some turtles. We then took an airboat ride that the kids (and the adults!) really enjoyed...who knew it was actually a ride and not just seeing animals while on a boat!!

Nolan and Ethan with their bunny mouth lollipops

from their Easter baskets from Pap and Nana

A special treat...eating lunchables
before walking Shark Valley

We were so close to the alligators of all different sizes

Nana, Pap, Nolan, and Lydia checking out an alligator

Love the colors on this bird!

If you look closely, you can see the nest? of baby alligators...

look for yellow stripes in the water and back by the tree

Turtle!!

A close-up of a baby alligator...they were all over!

Ethan with an alligator in the background

Another turtle, sunning himself

My way of showing that I was actually on the vacation

Ethan's ready for the action (and the noise!)

Lydia and Nolan too!

It was a fast ride!

The cool-looking trees that grow in the Everglades

And the flowers that bloom on them

Too much wind for Lydia's eyes

Just like being on a roller coaster

The views from Dad and Anna's place

The kids and the luggage in the elevator...a big attraction the whole trip
