San Miguel de Tetillas

San Miguel de Tetilllas is a small town a little over an hour from Queretaro. It's a village of some of the indigenous Otomi people of Mexico. We saw how they lived, a couple of ceremonies, and their crafts. It was very interesting to learn about their culture.

I was able to go by myself on this trip and after

seeing these guys reactions, I was so glad!

because they were burning lots of incense!

A 500 year old home made from stone and bark from palm

trees (I think). There's a 100 year old woman living there!

A pile of the fiber from the Agave plant (plant used to make

tequila). They use this fiber to make the crafts that they sell.

a beautiful calla lily made from the fibers.
