Monte Alban

While in Oaxaca, we visited the ruins of Monte Alban which are on the top of a mountain and have great views. Monte Alban was first occupied around 500 BC by the Zapotecs. We paid an english-speaking guide to walk with us around the expansive site.

Monte Alban means "white mountain."

When all of the mongolia trees are in bloom,

the mountain top looks completely white.

Lydia loved all the room to run around!

All of us on top of one of the pyramids

A family picture on top of the pyramid...don't look too

closely because it's going to be our Christmas card picture!

The "stage"

Heading into the tunnel. They couldn't get

very far, but they thought it was pretty cool.
