Our youngest child is 4!

I cannot believe that it's been 4 years since we had our third child, yet, we've done so much in Lydia's short life, it's hard to believe that she's not older!  She's lived in two countries, two cities and four houses (soon to be five in June), has traveled to many places in Mexico and the US, learned a second language (while learning the first), and has friends from all over the world.  I have to say, she is one lucky little girl!

Although she can be challenging, Lydia has such a fun, sweet, silly personality. She is still constantly trying to keep up with her brothers, but her girly side has definitely blossomed over the last year.  Here favorite things to do are write and draw and she loves dancing and singing.  She is doing great in school and is enjoying staying busy with her swimming, ballet, and gymnastics after school.

I decided to start a new tradition of asking the kids their favorites around their birthdays to see how things change over the years.  Here are Lydia's answers:

What is your favorite outfit?  Nothing (I don't know if it's what she meant, but she does love to be naked!)
What is your favorite game?  Dora
What is your favorite snack? Pasta
What is your favorite animal? Ducky
What is your favorite song?  Dynamite (Taio Cruz)
What is your favorite book?  Where's Waldo
Who is your best friend?  Mommy
What is your favorite cereal?  Frosted Flakes
What is your favorite thing to do outside?  Play Bubbles
What is your favorite drink?  Milk
What is your favorite holiday?  Halloween and Christmas
What do you take to bed with you at night?  Stuffed Animals
What is your favorite breakfast?  Toast
What is your favorite dinner?  Pasta
What do you want to be when you grow up?  Adult

I was surprised at how quickly she answered the questions.  I only had to give her examples on a few and then she came up with her answer.  Most of the answers could probably change an hour later, but she does love her pasta (obviously) and Dora and she did melt my heart when she said Mommy for her best friend.  It will be fun to read over her answers from year to year!

Since we were in Tolantongo for Lydia's birthday morning, some of our traditions were not possible like decorating her room and having cake for breakfast.  She didn't seem to mind.  When anyone would tell her happy birthday that week she would tell them that she was in Tolantongo.  We did leave on the early side so we could get back for her to open her presents and pick a restaurant for dinner.  She definitely understood that it was her birthday this year and enjoyed every minute of it!
