Nolan's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe that Nolan is 3! It's crazy to think that that's how old Ethan was when Nolan was born. It has just gone by so quickly. He has such a great personality and is SO sweet. This last year he has grown so much in so many ways. Here are a few facts about Nolan:
  • He's talking up a storm now and says such funny things...an amazing improvement from last year at this time.
  • He's potty trained (with some accidents)...including pooping! YAY!
  • He's starting preschool next week (two days a week). Crazy.
  • He loves "Star Wars guys," dinosaurs, Thomas the train, Transformers, and "Car Movie."
  • He'll sit and watch just about anything on TV, but loves movies.
  • He looks up to Ethan a lot, which is sweet.
  • If he's upset, just offer him a puzzle...it fixes everything!
  • He loves to watch or play any kind of sport (and he knows which sport is which).

We had an action-packed day for Nolan's birthday. It's tradition at our house to decorate the birthday child's door with streamers, so they are celebrated the second they walk out their door. Nolan was very excited about the streamers and was pointing at them the second he saw them. We also decorate downstairs and I make a cake (banana, graham cracker cake) that we eat for breakfast. We did all of that, sang happy birthday, opened presents, and went to church. We wanted to do something special on Nolan's birthday since we're going to the circus on Ethan's birthday, so we took him to Build-a-Bear workshop to make a stuffed animal, which he loved. We closed the day with dinner at a Japanese steakhouse. It was a great day for all of us! Happy Birthday Nolan!
