For spring break this year we decided to meet my Dad and Anna in Arizona. We found timeshares there and James had never been and always wanted to go. We figured it would be a great opportunity for him to finally go and give the kids a glimpse of the southwest United States.
We met my Dad and Anna at the Phoenix airport and drove to Sedona where we stayed for the week. Their flight was delayed, so we had a very delicious dinner and bottle of wine at the airport while we waited. By the time we got in the car and headed north is was way past the kids' bedtime. They all fell asleep in the car:
Our first day in Sedona was Easter. The resort had a small breakfast and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Unfortunately, right before the Easter egg hunt started, Ethan had to run to the bathroom with a stomach ache. We thought it was just something he ate, but we would later find out that it was the start of another trip with sick kids.

Lydia's age group went first. She ran full speed to find as many eggs as she could and ended up winning first prize (out of two girls!). She won this basket:

After the Easter egg hunt we to a state park close by to hike and see the beautiful Sedona rocks. We got about halfway through the short hike and poor Ethan had another stomach issue and had to go to the bathroom on the side of the trail. We felt so bad for him! James headed back to the front with Ethan and Lydia while Nolan, my Dad, Anna, and I went on to finish the trail. Nolan talked nonstop and enjoyed being the only kid for at least a little while!
