I think I say this every year, but I really can't believe my "baby" is five. The years have gone by so fast. Lydia loves life (most of the time!). She never walks anywhere, she's always skipping and running from one activity to another. Lydia's teacher calls her her little gazelle! She is very into princesses and barbies right now and is always wearing one of her princess costumes. She's also become very fond of weddings. It must be from the princess movies.
Lydia is doing a great job at school and loves it. She, unfortunately, has seemed to have forgotten all of her Spanish, but I'm hoping the bi-weekly Spanish lessons have been triggering her memory! This year she has been enjoying her ballet and hip hop class and gymnastics. She does seem to prefer dancing. If there's any music on, Lydia is at least moving her hips and singing. She can't help herself.
I asked Lydia her favorites again. It's funny to see how things have changed from this post last year. Lydia's list of favorites:

On Lydia's actual birthday we celebrated with a decorated door, cake for breakfast, dinner at her place of choice, and presents. Since we had just had "healthy" cake for breakfast on my birthday, Lydia chose her own cake (chocolate, ugh!). She had to wear her "ladybug" dress to school that day. I can never seem to find candles for the cake, so she got to blow out the scented candles. After school, we headed to North Eleven for dinner and she got to open her presents from all of us. She was so excited for her birthday this year and kept telling everyone she's five now!
"Happy Birthday to you"
Blowing out her candles
Happy 5th Birthday Lydia.
Finally, Cinderella on DVD!
Lydia loves her girl legos and was so excited to get Olivia's house!
Kisses for her brothers:
