Ethan turns 8!

It's official....I have an 8 year old! I cannot believe; 1. that I'm old enough to have an eight year old and 2. that I've survived parenting for 8 years! I don't know how my parents deal with having a 33 year old. They must feel really old ;-)

Ethan is growing up to be such a cool person. He loves music, reading, Tae Kwon Do, and, of course, video games. He has read so many chapter books this year it's hard for me to keep up (and the library is limited in English books). On top of Tae Kwon Do, Ethan is going to start tennis and swimming and he is participating in Destination Imagination at school. DI is a problem solving, teamwork building activity and they compete in a tournament in March as a final challenge.

Ethan's birthday looked pretty similar to Nolan's. We had banana graham cracker cake for breakfast, opened presents, and then went for octopus that night for dinner. He had a great birthday and was excited to get an I-pod nano to listen to his music and some new chapter books.

He's happy with his wish!

Opening his new I-pod!

His favorite song right now: Dynamite

Nolan and Lydia were very into Ethan opening his gifts, but

whenever I went to take a picture, Lydia turned and said, "cheese!"

Enjoying his octopus

El Constenito changed their birthday celebration

since we were there a month ago for Nolan's

birthday. They made Ethan stand up on a chair

and put a silly hat on him and then sang to him.

Ethan was ready for "mor-di-da, mor-di-da" and

took a bite right out of his cheesecake.

What a cutie!
