Ethan participated in Ryan Readers this year at school. He was with a group of seven boys. The boys read around seven books over a three month period and would get together every other week to talk about the books. At the end of the three months there was a competition between the Ryan Reader teams. They had to answer specific questions from the books and whichever team had the most points, won. It was a tight race in the beginning, but Ethan's team won with he tie breaker question. They were so proud and so excited.

The first graders at Richland Elementary have a fun science day in the spring. All of the first graders are put into groups and then rotate from class to class to participate in different science experiments. Here's a picture of Nolan with his group learning about sinking and floating and the properties of water.

Since the fall Tanja and I have been working on getting the Let Me Run program started at Ethan's school. Let Me Run is boys running program for 4th and 5th grade boys. We got the grant for the program, so James sent me flowers congratulating me on the program. So sweet!
