Stop 1: Pittsburgh

Once again, our travel back to the US for the summer did not go smoothly. Although we had a hotel room at the airport in Mexico City, we still had to get up at 5 am to catch our flight. There were mechanical problems on our original plane, so we had to wait (2 1/2 hours) for a replacement plane. When we arrived in Chicago, we had missed our connecting flight and they couldn't get us on another one that day, so we had to spend the night. The airline paid for our room and for dinner. It was still frustrating because we had to get up at 4 am the next morning to catch our early flight and then ended up sitting on the runway for over 2 hours! Two very early mornings is not the best way to start a packed 5 1/2 week trip (especially with kids!)!

Our first stop was Pittsburgh. We played at the park with cousins, went to Stonevilla Winery, and went to a Pirate's baseball game on the 4th of July.

to go and eat, drink wine, and listen to music!

Before the Pirate's game, we went to Jerome
