My dad and stepmom, Anna, came in from Naples, FL (via Chicago) to have an early Christmas celebration with us. My sister was also able to make it, but Justin, unfortunately, had to work, so it was just Jess and Otis.

The kids were excited with their presents from Pap and Nana and Aunt Jessie and Uncle Justin...they played with them all afternoon!
That evening we got a sitter and had an adult night. We decided at the last minute to get a cab to take us into downtown Kalamazoo since it was snowing pretty hard. Not sure it was the best idea, but it made for a good story. Jess called a cab company that ended up being a little ghetto. The cab driver got to our house and the side slider wouldn't open. It was missing the handle on the inside (she found it in the front seat), so we couldn't even open it from there. We were already late for our reservation, so we decided to just climb over the backseat. My dad was the last one in and thought better of climbing over the seat...he sat in the trunk!

The other part of the story is that she way overcharged us (almost double), but I won't go into that!
Dad and Anna left on Sunday, but Jessie stayed around to hang out for a couple more days. It was fun having everyone here!
