A great benefit of living in Michigan? The fruit! This year I decided to try to pick as many different types of fruit as we could manage. Strawberries were first up. Six of us and our kids headed to the strawberry patch on one of the first hot days of the summer. It was toasty in the open field, but we sucked it up and managed to pick enough strawberries for strawberry jam, strawberry rhubarb jam, and eating.
