Our Charlotte Visit!

At the end of June we took a road trip to Charlotte to see the Harts.  We were all excited to spend a relaxing week with some of our favorite friends!  We spent some time on the boat out on Lake Norman, the kids did vacation bible school every night while the adults went out to dinner, we spent a fantastic day at the whitewater rafting center, Christy and I went bowling with the kids while the guys worked, and we spent the day at the pool in their neighborhood.

The only negative of the trip happened the first day we were there.  The kids were outside playing while the adults were getting ready to go out on the boat.  The Hart kids asked if they could ride down the hill.  While Christy was thinking, Mike said yes.  Christy said something like last time you said yes and I thought about it we ended up with a kid with a broken arm.  Not 5 minutes later, Lydia was outside screaming in pain!  She had taken the scooter down the hill and it had a bad wheel that turned and made her fly over the handlebars.  She was scraped up pretty bad down her whole right leg and left arm.  Poor thing was so nervous to get it wet or touch it all week.  She was very lucky that that was all that happened because she wasn't wearing a helmet!

The kids at the whitewater rafting park.  Ethan and Kaitlyn were the only kids that were old enough (and wanted) to go white water rafting, so Christy and I took them and the dads went on their own.  What a great experience and so much fun!

Lydia was finally brave enough to get her boo boo wet and go down the slide!

This is what her boo boos looked like after five days of band aids and neosporin!

This isn't a great picture, but I loved these trees!
