The first season of Let Me Run at Ryan Intermediate went really well! We had 28 boys on three teams participate for 7 weeks and ended the season with the Run or Dye 5k in Kalamazoo. To get the entry fees for the boys donated, we helped with packet pick up the day before. Four boys from our team worked our hour shift and had a great time! The race was fun for the boys, but it definitely wasn't conducive to running your best race. It was very crowded and many people were walking. It wasn't even timed, so we had some volunteers at the finish line keeping track of our times. The boys enjoyed running through the dye and getting as covered as they could get, but I, for one, would never do another color run. That dye was up my nose for days! We had a lot of happy, smiling faces at that finish line and that's what this program is all about! What a fun morning!

One of the boys on our Let Me Run team couldn't participate in the Run or Dye race with the rest of the team, so we went to cheer him on at a local race the following day. He did a great job!
