Nolan's Surgery

Finally it was time for Nolan to have his heart ablation.  We thought he was going to be able to get off of the medicine and everything was going to be fixed, but, unfortunately, that didn't end up happening.  Here are my facebook posts from the day of and day after surgery:

Thanks for the love everyone. For those of you who don't know, Nolan is having a heart ablation today to fix his SVT that was found when he had his eye surgery two and a half years ago. The surgery will most likely take between 4 and 6 hours and then he has to lay flat for 6 hours. The blood was drawn (with a slight panic) and he's been in the operating room for about an hour now.

Nolan's been out of surgery for about three hours laying flat. We're in the room right next to the room he was in 2 1/2 years ago and we haven't made much progress. When the dr went in they discovered that it wasn't what they thought it was so they didn't do the ablation. Some questions were answered but we still don't know the issue. He has to wear a monitor for 30 days and then back on meds and more cardiologist visits. Nothing's ever cut and dry for NoJo!! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers today!!

Update on Nolan: We finally were able to leave the hospital at 6 last night. We left with a heart monitor and transmitter that he has to wear for 30 days. Nolan's legs were sore last night from the catheters, but he seemed fine today. They already called us this evening because Nolan's monitor showed that he had a few fast heart rate runs (it's being monitored at all times). They want us to put him back on his medicine tomorrow. Although this is frustrating not knowing what the problem is and what's in store, we were on a floor with many very sick cardiac kids yesterday and I'm just thankful our kid gets to be home with us!! Definitely puts things in perspective. Thanks again for all your encouraging words, prayers, and thoughts.
