Thanksgiving looked very different this year for our family. We still went to my Mom's in Pennsylvania, but the crowd was much smaller. Months ago my Grandpa fell and had to be hospitalized. He went into a nursing home for rehabilitation, but, when that was done, he was still not capable of living on his own. My Mom decided that he could move in with her and she would take care of him (with help from my stepdad, siblings off and on, and nurses/ caregivers a few times a week).
Usually our Thanksgiving includes between 25- 30 people. It's a lot of people and a lot of work for my Mom and Stepdad every year. They already had a lot on their plate, so we only had 12 people at dinner. My mom and stepdad, pap, my sister and her husband, our family, and my mom's sister and brother-in-law (since they traveled from Virginia to be there). It was very nice and the food was fabulous as usual, but it was definitely different.
