Our last trip with newcomers was to Valle de Bravo in the state of Mexico. Valle de Bravo is beautiful town with a large lake that many compare to Switzerland or Italy. I'm not quite sure about that comparison, but it did feel like we were outside of Mexico. The pine trees gave the air a wonderful, fresh smell...so different from dry, Queretaro! It took me back to camping when I was growing up. Valle de Bravo is where the wealthy people from Mexico City have their second home or just go to get away. It was a great trip and I'm glad I had a chance to see it before we move back to Michigan!
Eight cars traveled together after school on a Friday and made the 3 1/2 hour trip to get to Valle de Bravo by dinner. The families with kids headed out together (19 of us) for dinner soon after arriving. The next day we headed to Cascada Velo de Novia (Bridal Veil Waterfall). It gets it's name because the way the water falls, it looks like a bride's veil. It was beautiful...I never get tired of waterfalls!
